Jamie Tinkler is one of the most successful independent singers performing in the UK at the moment. An experienced performer based in the North East, Jamie has been there, seen it and done it!
In 2002, Jamie entered the British qualifying competition for Eurovision Song Contest performing the song “Every Step of the Way” (a song later released by Donny Osmond). Jamie came third in the competition, an excellent start to for a 21 year old in his first ever live TV performance.
In 2003 Jamie reached the Semi Finals of Pop Idol. Jamie met Pete Waterman on Pop Idol, and later that year Pete signed Jamie up for a Boy/ Girl Group called “Pop”. “Pop” released three singles on the Sony/BMG record label, all singles reaching the top 30, at #14, #16 and #26 in the UK charts.
In 2006 Jamie was asked to join boy band “Avenue” who were been lined up for tilt at The X Factor. “Avenue” made it to the final 4 acts in Louis Walsh’s category. However, because “Avenue” already had a record contract the boys bowed out gracefully from the show with Louis wishing the group the best of luck.
Jamie was maturing vocally by this stage in his career and by late 2007 he was asked to front an indie rock band called Baxter. Jamie began showing a flair for songwriting while working with the band. Jamie penned tunes that were on the EP “End of the World” which was released on iTunes.
Having left Baxter to return home Jamie is having fantastic success wowing audiences in a variety of venues throughout the whole of the UK. Working with world famous names in the music industry has meant Jamie has been able to develop as a singer, performer and person.
